FULL BALANCE: “RABILOO IS OUR IDEAL TECHNOLOGY PARTNER”

With nearly 20 years of establishment and development, Full Balance is currently Shopify's leading expert partner in Japan, specializing in providing technology solutions and building EC on the Shopify platform, helping retailers maximize sales. With the desire to increasingly expand the scale of its EC projects on Shopify, Full Balance has been constantly improving the company's capabilities as well as looking for suitable technology partners. Rabiloo had a conversation with Mr. Kakuma - Director of Full Balance about Full Balance's technology partner model as well as the company's future plans.

Full Balance's ideal technology partner model

- As a technology company, what are Full Balance’s criteria to choose your technology partners?

Mr. Kakuma: For me, technical capacity, flexibility and communication capacity are the three most important criteria to choose a technology partner.

- Can you clarify these three criteria please?

Regarding communication capacity, because I have a technical background, I can recognize the partners' technical competence through the way they present the problem or proposals. At this point, I highly speak of straightforwardness and honesty. If we are not honest with each other, it will easily cause problems.

However, I think communication capacity alone is not enough to work together. Let me give an example: previously we cooperated with an offshore company in Viet Nam. If it comes to communication, this is a reliable partner. However, no matter how good the partner company's engineers are, if the individuals selected to work with us have low problem-solving ability or technical ability, I think it is not a good and suitable partner.

- How did you know about Rabiloo?

Mr. Kakuma: When Rabiloo was still a small-scale company, by some chance Mr. Cuong contacted me. At first, we only exchanged small jobs, then the scale of the projects became larger and larger, gradually the scope of work we could delegate to Rabiloo increased, being suitable to Rabiloo's current scale.

- How do you assess Rabiloo's communication capacity?

Mr. Kakuma: As I said, I value straightforwardness and honesty in communication. Rabiloo always answers us very honestly. They will be willing to say 'no' if they really cannot fulfill our request. Anything they can do well, Rabiloo will say they can do well. Therefore, I am reassured and feel very impressed with Rabiloo's clear and straightforward communication style.

- What is your impression of Rabiloo's technical capability?

Mr. Kakuma: As for the technical aspect, in my opinion, there are two issues that we need to pay attention to. The first is the ability to develop projects quickly and on a large scale, the second is the ability to solve technology-related problems and unexpected situations. During the process, having problems at any stage is inevitable. Rabiloo meets both of the above criteria. That's probably why I'm extremely impressed and confident about Rabiloo's capability.

I would like to give an example: previously, Full Balance and Rabiloo jointly proposed an e-commerce website selling paintings. I remember that this customer always wanted to add new features. Rabiloo helped us communicate directly with them and contributed many valuable ideas. A number of problems were resolved smoothly. Later, we received feedback from the engineers involved in production and those in charge of the project from our customer’s team that the code quality and project implementation were good.

- What else makes you satisfied while working with Rabiloo?

Mr. Kakuma: During the project implementation process with Rabiloo, we not only worked with the bridge software engineer (BrSE) and other engineers but also had a discussion directly with Mr. Oanh - Chief Technology Officer (CTO) about the project. Therefore, we feel very confident that we will receive the best solutions from Rabiloo.

Full Balance's goals in the future and expectations for Rabiloo

- What are Full Balance's goals in the future?

Mr. Kakuma: Basically, our company wants to expand the scale of Shopify projects and reach more customers selling products on EC sites. As long as our capacity is not strong enough, we cannot promote the development of our customers' EC sites. Therefore, I wish to expand the scale including developing the company's capacity.

- What are Full Balance's expectations about collaborating with Rabiloo in the future?

Mr. Kakuma: Rabiloo is developing deeply related to retail. Currently in the field of proprietary application development, we are entrusting Rabiloo with part of Shopify. Since we have collaborated before, I think it would be interesting to jointly develop something related to EC. Of course, we expect more specific solutions related to AI or components for product development. If Rabiloo has AI packages that are easy to combine with our company's solutions or development techniques, we look forward to sharing those and leveraging them in system development. This is what we want the most.

- To share one last thing about Rabiloo, what would you like to say?

Mr. Kakuma: Personally, if we make a little 'exaggerated' comparison, Rabiloo is like a part of the Viet Nam’s symbol - it is strong development and growth. Mr. Cuong (CEO of Rabiloo) always tells us that 'Let's Grow Together'. I always hope that in the future I can develop more and more with Rabiloo.
